An avid horseback rider as a youth, Channing dreamed of riding in the Olympics. After being diagnosed with refractory epilepsy, she had to rethink that dream, and now when Channing enters the arena, it's no longer about her. Instead, it’s to help others with treatment-resistant epilepsy. In 2018, she created Team Channing to help spread awareness and fund a $100k CURE Epilepsy research grant.
Channing has had seizures anywhere and everywhere – on horses and on skis. As a result, she’s had to find solutions that allow her to maintain quality of life, and she shares those solutions here on this site. Some may work for you. Others may help inspire solutions of your own.
But the seizures are only half the battle. The other half is the side effects of all the anti-seizure drugs Channing has to take. She’s had to find solutions to counter those too, and those solutions can also be found on this site.

Heat and dehydration, dizziness, insomnia, hand tremors, lack of stamina, lack of appetite, lack of energy, nausea and vomiting all conspire to try to keep Channing sidelined on the couch and away from the barn.
That’s why a cure is so desperately needed. If it’s not the challenges of the seizures themselves that Channing has to overcome in order to pursue her passion, it’s the side-effects of the meds.
And that’s why Channing is taking her fight into the arena.
